Not long after Commander Tartar's attempt to destroy Inkopolis and the world is foiled, Agent 3 finally wakes up from his coma with noticeable disfigurations from having been hijacked by Tartar. Concerned about the effects Tartar's hijacking could have had on Agent 3's noggin, Cap'n Cuttlefish assigns a partner to Agent 3: the Octoling girl who had freed him from Tartar's control and defeated the creature, Agent 8. Although reluctant to have Agent 8 working alongside him, a series of misadventures involving Octarians leads the two agents to begin developing… complicated… feelings for each other.
However, trouble is brewing for the New Squidbeak Splatoon and Inkopolis. Although Tartar and his NILS Statue were destroyed, the city soon finds itself in the midst of a Sanitized Apocalypse. Will the Squidbeak Splatoon and their allies be able to handle this challenge? Will Agent 3 and Agent 8 ride off into the sunset together? Will I find my wallet? Let's find out…
